Ending the education of hatred

Ending the education of hatred
November 21, 2025

On Friday, November 21, a conference dedicated to bullying and youth hardship, titled “Ending the education of hatred”, took place in Milan at Fabbrica del Vapore. Promoted by the Global Committee for the Rule of Law “Marco Pannella,” the event sought to draw attention to one of the most urgent social emergencies of recent years: bullying and the growing distress among young people.

Bullying is an increasingly widespread phenomenon that poses a serious threat to the psychological, emotional, and relational well-being of children and adolescents. An ever-growing number of young people are exposed to exclusion, verbal abuse, and physical or psychological aggression, both in everyday life and in the digital environment. These experiences often leave deep and lasting marks, undermining emotional balance and the ability to build healthy relationships.

Alongside bullying, another deeply troubling and alarming issue has emerged: suicide among minors. Tragically, this phenomenon affects not only adolescents but, in some cases, even children of primary school age. It is a painful and frequently underestimated reality that demands urgent attention, effective prevention strategies, and continuous support from families, schools, and local communities.

Within this framework, a fundamental question arises: what values are we choosing to pass on to our children? The conference aimed to foster an in-depth dialogue among institutions, experts, educators, families, and representatives from the worlds of sports and communication, encouraging reflection on the educational models we promote and on how to build a culture rooted in respect, responsibility, and solidarity.

Moderated by Giovanni Terzi, the conference featured contributions from Senator Giulio Terzi, President of the Senate Committee on EU Policies; Senator Mariastella Gelmini; Senator Simona Malpezzi; Carlo Fidanza, Member of the European Parliament; Dr. Luca Bernardo, Director of the Maternal and Child Department at Fatebenefratelli and Macedonio Melloni Hospitals; Simona Ventura; Dr. Anna Rita Benincaso, Medical Director and specialist in Pediatrics and Neonatology, as well as President of G.I.O.I.A. ETS; and Dr. Carlo Di Blasi, President of Association Fight1.
